HAMPTON PARK NEIGHBOURHOOD BUILDING PROGRAM
About the Children's Classes
"Regard man as a mine rich in gems of inestimable value. Education can, alone, cause it to reveal its treasures, and enable mankind to benefit therefrom."
A children's class is an educational program designed specifically for children ages 5 to 11 to learn about moral and spiritual principles and develop virtues that will guide them throughout their lives. In a children's class, children engage in activities such as songs, stories, dancing, arts and crafts, games, and group discussions.
The content of the classes include teachings from various spiritual views, moral and ethical lessons, and guidance on character development. The classes aim to create a loving and supportive environment where children can explore and develop their spiritual nature, learn to be kind and compassionate, and develop a sense of responsibility towards their families, communities, and the world.
The classes are open to children of all backgrounds and beliefs and are intended to complement the education children receive at home and in schools. The classes are conducted by trained facilitators who serve as mentors and role models for the children, helping them to develop their spiritual and moral capabilities.
Children's Classes in Hampton Park
"Children are the most precious treasure a community can possess, for in them are the promise and guarantee of the future."
The Children's Class program has been running in Hampton Park for nearly 5 years now, the Children’s Classes are an aspect of the Neighbourhood Building Program offered by residents of Hampton Park who aspire to serve their neighbourhood/community. As such, these classes are run by experienced individuals who have been involved in the program for many years and have undergone training to work with children, including obtaining their Working With Children's Checks and adhering to the relevant Child Protection Policies. The teachers, much like a school, plan and reflect on lessons weekly, train new teachers and are in conversations with families frequently in order to ensure the development of all children.
Although there are no fees for these classes, what must be understood is that this is NOT a day care. We all have a part to play in this community. We strongly encourage youth and adults to give time and volunteer to help.
Important Events
In addition to this program, many events are run external from the children’s class and tutoring program at the Hampton Park Learning Centre. Ranging from Children’s Festivals to Sport Days and many others of the sort. To grasp the full value of this program, you understand that attendance of these spaces from the parent and the child(ren) is mandatory. The organisers of these events will notify you of its happening weeks prior.
Some of these important events include:
-
Community Gatherings - A gathering of the community at the Hampton Park Learning Centre. This event is to nurture community development and fellowship, to update parents on current progress of the program, and inform others of upcoming events.
-
Parent-Teacher Progress Meetings - A organised one-on-one (or more) parent to teacher progress meeting about the developments of their child. Times and dates fall on the communication between you, and your child’s teacher. When and where will also fall on the decision made between the parent and teacher.
Of course we understand that some families simply don’t have the time to commit to help at every class, but just coming along to a special event, a play or a sports event is just as important and a great way to connect with other families and your kids.
